Our Mission -

We strive to make metal recycling as efficient as possible - by building upon our global capabilities, economies of scale and technical specialization - while keeping our commitment to environmental stewardship and long-established personal, business and community relationships.

Our Beginnings -

Northern Metal Recycling LLC is a new company, with a long history. We began operations in 2007 following the merger of four existing Minnesota - based scrap metal processors: Great Western Recycling Industries (est. 1925), HA Kaplan Metals Reduction Company (est. 1915), American Iron & Steel (est. 1885), and Phillips Recycling Systems.

Our company business offices are located in the American Iron building in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Our Partners -

Northern Metal Recycling LLC, along with Southern Recycling LLC, and Camden Iron & Metal Inc, is a subsidiary of EMR-USA, the American division of European Metal Recycling Ltd.(EMR). EMR is headquartered in the U.K. and is a world-wide leader in metal recycling technology.
